John has worked extensively in the Queensland development industry as both a Consulting Cadastral Surveyor and Town Planner. John has experience in a wide range of urban and rural developments including rural residential subdivisions, urban subdivisions, strata titling, lease surveys, multi-unit developments and community title schemes. John's expertise and knowledge of the Queensland development industry is exceptional. He is able to guide and manage the development process throughout all stages, from the initial conceptual phase through to the later development approval and construction phases. 

 

Qualifications & History

• Graduated from University of Queensland Bachelor of Surveying & Licensed Cadastral Surveyor in 1965.  

• Staff Surveyor in the Division 1 Survey Office Department of Lands from 1965 to 1970, conducting surveys in Central Queensland & Far North Queensland.

• Employed by the Department of Trigonometric Surveys, South Africa 1970 - 1971 on Geodetic Surveys in the Republic.

• Employed by Jones Flint and Pike as a Surveyor and Project Manager 1971- 1977. 

• Commenced private practice in 1978 as John Dee Consulting, then later as John Dee & Associates Pty Ltd.

• Obtained a Graduate Diploma in Business Management from QUT.

• Obtained an MBA from QUT in 1993.

• Obtained a Master of Urban & Regional Town Planning from QUT in 2007.

• Became a PIA Certified Practising Planner in 2011.

• Recognised as a Planning Industry of Australia Registered Planner in 2020.
